A Substance Use Evaluation, also know and a drug and alcohol evaluation, is an interview between an individual and a licensed counselor. The goal of the evaluation is to assess whether or not an individual's alcohol or drug use is a problem and how it affects their life. The evaluation is meant to provide clarity and if needed recommendations for treatment.
